The history of the Jewish people is complex, but inseparable from hope. For thousands of years, Jews were persecuted, discriminated against, and expelled from their homes. In the former Vilnius ghetto, a Star of David carved several meters high (perhaps during World War II) has survived to this day. It is not entirely clear whether it was carved inside the house that stood at the time, or whether it was always an external wall. However, the outlines of the star are clearly visible even today.

The „crying eye” in the corner seems to symbolize the hardship and pain experienced by this nation.
